rwilliamsdev.com ("we," "us," "our") is operated by Richard Williams. This policy explains what information we collect through this website and how it is used.

2. Information We Collect

  • Contact form submissions — name, email address, message content
  • Website addresses you submit to the free audit tool — see section 3
  • Client project data — business details, login credentials, and content shared for the purpose of building/delivering a website or tool
  • Server log data — our host records standard request information, including IP address, when pages are served

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking tools on this site. This website does not process payments directly; payment for client services is arranged separately with each client.

3. Free Website Audit Tool

The audit tool on our homepage sends the website address you enter to the Google PageSpeed Insights API, which loads and tests that address and returns performance, SEO, accessibility, and best-practices scores.

  • The request is made directly from your browser to Google. The address you enter is processed by Google under Google's Privacy Policy.
  • We do not ask for your name, email address, or any other personal detail in order to run an audit.
  • We do not store, log, or retain the addresses you submit, and we do not retain the results. Scores are displayed in your browser and disappear when you leave or reload the page.
  • Please only submit addresses for websites you own or are authorised to test.

4. Instant Preview Tool

The Instant Preview tool builds a sample storefront from the business name, category, and town you type in. This runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type into it is transmitted to us or to any third party, and nothing is stored.

5. Cookies & Local Storage

This website sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser's local or session storage. We do not operate a consent banner because we do not place any non-essential cookies. Third-party providers listed in section 7 may set their own cookies or receive your IP address as a necessary part of serving their content.

  • Responding to inquiries and delivering requested services
  • Improving website content and user experience
  • Meeting legal or contractual obligations to clients

We do not sell or rent personal information to third parties.

7. Third-Party Services

This site relies on the following third parties. Each has its own privacy policy governing data it processes:

  • GitHub Pages — hosting. GitHub records standard server log data, including visitor IP addresses.
  • EmailJS — processes contact form submissions.
  • Google Fonts — serves the typefaces used on this site. Your browser requests these files directly from Google, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
  • Google PageSpeed Insights API — powers the free audit tool described in section 3.
  • jsDelivr — content delivery network used to load the EmailJS script. Your browser requests this file directly from jsDelivr, which receives your IP address.

Client projects may additionally use Supabase and the WhatsApp Business API.

8. Data Storage & Security

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. Contact form submissions are processed via EmailJS. We apply reasonable technical safeguards, including HTTPS encryption on all pages and restricted access to admin/service credentials.

9. Your Rights

You may request a copy of the personal data we hold, request correction or deletion, or withdraw consent for communications at any time — contact richard@rwilliamsdev.com.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under the EU/UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019). We honour these requests regardless of your location.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose it was collected for, or as required by law/contract. Audit tool submissions are not retained at all, as described in section 3.

11. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision.

13. Governing Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of California, USA, and additionally by the Kenya Data Protection Act (2019) for any services provided to businesses or customers located in Kenya.
